VOLUNTEER NEEDS

I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the pilgrimage. It was not only fun but enlightening, relaxing & just wonderful.  --Asha Mithal, volunteer

The Buddhist Bike Pilgrimage is an event that is run on a volunteer basis. Everyone involved in the event is a pilgrim whether you are riding or supporting the riders with your time and compassionate attitude.

We are particularly looking for help in the following ways. Volunteering in any capacity will be most appreciated.

************************************************************************************************

COOLERS & FIRST AID KITS
We are asking ALL Volunteers to please bring a cooler (with your name on it) to Spirit Rock with crushed ice.

COOLERS & FOOD DONATIONS
ARRIVING AT SPIRIT ROCK
When you arrive at Spirit Rock, please look for the designated area in the parking lot for all food donations. There will be a specific area for you to leave your coolers. We are asking for all food donations and coolers to be left in this area BEFORE you go to the Community Hall for registration, that way we can start gathering and organizing the donations.

FOOD DONATIONS
There will be a specific area for you to leave your food. There will be someone there to assist you on where to leave your donation. There will be a place for food that is perishable, needed for pit stops, needed for campground, etc. If you are running late, please just leave the food and we will take care of it.

I thank you all once again that have helped and have given your time and energy to support this pilgrimage...this is only the beginning....
Amy

FOOD DONATIONS
EVERYONE is encouraged to help with food donations. Our goal is to have as much food as possible donated, so that all dana offered can go to our host sites.
Please take a look at the FOOD page and let Amy know if there is something that you can supply or if you know a store or restaurant that might be willing to donate.
PIT CREWS
We are looking for people who can help at the pit stops. If you volunteer for this job, you will help set out snacks and drinks at several pit stops along the way. Experience with first aid and/or bike mechanics is great, but not necessary. We will be asking a few of the pit people to drive their cars and supply simple equipment (cutting boards, knives, coolers, garbage bags, etc.). We will be getting the food donations. Please contact Jane if you can help in this capacity.
SAG VEHICLES
These folks are the good beings who drive the route in their cars in case there are any bike break downs or injuries. If you offer this, we ask that you have a good working car with the capacity for 2 or 3 bikes. Again, experience with first aid and/or bike mechanics is great, but not necessary. A cell phone is also a good thing. We will also request that you help with transporting biking pilgrims home from Abhayagiri Monastery to Spirit Rock. Please contact Jane if you can help in this capacity.
COOKING
There will be two meals served; dinner on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning. We are looking for folks who can help our cooks. Please contact Amy.
